Last summer the 'word was out' that we had a celebrity visitor here in Bay of Fundy: Chef Lynn Crawford from the Food Network. Chef Lynn just launched her new series, "Pitchin' In", where she travels around the world to discover the source of the freshest of ingredients.
Her first episode was filmed here on Brier Island, Nova Scotia, and the topic is LOBSTER, of course!
The episode aired this week but if you missed it you can watch it online at the Food Network. I love the good people of Brier Island who showed her a good time way out in the mouth of the Bay of Fundy...seems fitting for a chef, don't you think?

I just watched the Food Network episode with Chef Lynn at the Bay of Fundy. The residents there seem so friendly and the food looked fabulous. Now I want to go for a visit. Of course I love lobster and all the other seafood to. Can't wait to make a trip there and enjoy it all. When is the best time of year to go.
well the tourism season here is pretty much May to mid-October. You'll be able to find lobster though in most large restaurants around the Bay year round. One of the neat things about the Digby through Brier Island area in Nova Scotia is that there are whale watching tours there from May to October. Over 12 species of whales, including the N Atlantic Right whale. If I had to pick a 'best' summer month, I'd choose August. Lynne Crawford is my favorite chef from Restaurant Makeover and my family and I were lucky enough to visit beautiful Long and Brier Island last summer. Pitchin In is going to be a great show and watching this episode made me miss Lavena's Seafood chowder not to mention the wonderful Bay of Fundy! :-)
