New use for old Bay of Fundy buoys

For the past year, I've been looking for an appropriate civic address sign for my new house but couldn't find anything that quite matched its cottage style.

Then it occurred to me: why not recycle a washed up Bay of Fundy buoy! It just took a couple trips to the beach to locate a used buoy then a bit of craft paint to finish the job.

I'm very pleased with the result...and passersby seem to be as amused as I am by the idea.

Wendy and I spoke of it this past week and want one for mom but will do the letters going the other way with a different shaped buoy. Seriously thought 'how clever'.Your new house/home looks very much like a cottage. Gotta get Randy on this one!!

Very cool but that buoy looks like a brand new one out of the box, not a used one with a bunch of growth, LOL!

You must have scrubbed her pretty good to get it that pristine white.

Here is a lobster buoy birdfeeder that I happen to think is cool as heck-

BTW, I'm thinking that I'd feel right at home in the Bay of Fundy.

  5. yep it's actually in much better shape on that side than the back, which is very torn up...although I was prepared to touch it up with Polyfill if necessary!!
And, yes, looking at your blog, I KNOW you'd feel quite at home here too.
